The client was starting a new construction company and already had one of the most visible pieces of equipment for the business: a black enclosed utility trailer. What he did not have yet was a finished visual direction for the company or graphics that made the trailer look like part of an established brand.

He found Promo Box through Instagram. He had not heard of us before, but our work started appearing in his feed. After seeing the projects and shop videos we were posting, he reached out about branding his trailer.

The trailer itself did not need a full wrap. It was already black, and that color worked as the background for the graphics, so we could use the existing finish instead of covering the entire trailer in vinyl. The real work on this project happened before installation: figuring out what the new company should actually look like on a vehicle.

Turning Three Logo Options Into One Trailer Design

The client came in with three different logo versions and had not yet decided which direction he wanted to use. We mocked up the options on the trailer and worked through several rounds of changes before the final design was approved.

There was a lot of fine-tuning. Some elements got larger, then smaller. Placement moved higher and lower. Colors were adjusted, and we discussed whether certain parts should have a matte or gloss appearance. The client was also getting feedback from people around him, so the design moved back and forth more than the physical installation ever did. That is not unusual when the business itself is new. A logo viewed by itself is one decision. Seeing it across the side of a commercial trailer is another. The vehicle gives you a much larger canvas, and proportions that seemed right on a screen can suddenly feel too small, too heavy, or simply in the wrong place. During the design process, the client also decided to add a large gray M across the trailer. We produced it as an additional layer of graphics on both sides, which gave the finished design a stronger visual element without turning the project into a full wrap.

Printing and Installing the Trailer Graphics

Once the design was finally approved, the production side was straightforward. The black trailer stayed black, and we printed the approved graphic elements rather than wrapping every exterior panel. This let the original trailer finish become part of the design.

The actual installation took approximately half a day. That is one of the advantages of approaching commercial graphics based on the vehicle that is already in front of us. A work trailer does not automatically need a full wrap. If the existing color works with the brand, custom vinyl graphics can give the vehicle a finished commercial look while using far less material and installation time.

The Result: One Trailer Became the Start of the Brand

The client was happy enough with the finished trailer that the project did not end when he drove it out of the shop. He later came back to Promo Box for business cards and also wanted to order branded apparel for the new construction company. That is a useful way to look at a trailer project for a new business. The trailer may be the first large branded piece customers see, but it should not look disconnected from everything that comes after it. The same visual direction can carry into cards, shirts, jackets, and other materials as the company grows.

What This Utility Trailer Graphics Project Cost

The completed project totaled $2,450, including the design work and finished trailer graphics. The original scope started lower, but the project expanded during design when the client decided to add the oversized gray M as an additional graphic layer on both sides of the trailer.

Commercial trailer graphics do not have one fixed price. The cost changes depending on how much of the trailer is being covered, whether the existing trailer color can become part of the design, how much design work is required, and whether the project uses individual graphics, partial coverage, or a complete wrap.

For a new company, we normally start with the same question we used on this project: what does the trailer already give us, and what actually needs to be added to make it look right?

Promo Box designs, prints, and installs commercial vehicle and trailer graphics at our Everett shop. If you already have a logo, a rough idea, or even several directions you are choosing between, we can work from there and build the graphics around the vehicle you actually have.
