Andrey bought a Cybertruck for his business and didn't want to drive around in something that looked like a tin can. His request was simple: make it black. A company referred him to us right after we finished a rush job on their two Teslas, so he already knew our work when he walked in.

Two days later, the truck rolled out of our shop in satin black with a high-gloss black Bellshire Homes logo. Black on black. No phone number, no slogan. Just the logo. I like this job because it's all about restraint. A business truck doesn't always need to shout. Sometimes the vehicle does the advertising, and the logo only has to tell people whose truck it is.

Why We Recommended Satin Instead of Matte

Andrey first asked for matte black. That's a fair request. Matte looks aggressive on a Cybertruck, and plenty of people want it.

The matte finish he was considering could make the black look slightly gray under certain lighting, especially across the Cybertruck's large, flat panels. Satin offered the deeper black appearance he wanted while keeping a soft, low-sheen finish.

There was a practical reason, too. In our experience, satin finishes are generally easier to keep clean than matte finishes because they tend to show fewer stubborn dirt marks and water spots. For a truck used in business, that matters just as much as the appearance.

We walked him through the difference, and he chose satin.

The Film: Avery Dennison SW900 Satin Black

For the color change, we used Avery Dennison SW900 in Satin Black. It's a cast wrap film designed to conform to vehicle contours while maintaining dimensional stability.

We don't laminate a color change film like this. Laminate is for printed graphics, where ink sits on white vinyl and needs protection from scratches and solvents. SW900 has its color and finish built into the film. Adding laminate would increase the cost and change the finish without providing a meaningful benefit.

Wrapping a Cybertruck

People expect the Cybertruck to be a nightmare to wrap. In reality, the body is mostly flat panels and straight lines, and the glass is rectangular. There are no deep compound curves like the ones on a sports car bumper. The large panels still require careful film positioning and consistent application to maintain an even satin appearance across the entire vehicle.

The color change and logo installation took two days. Once Andrey selected the satin finish and approved the design, the project moved forward smoothly without any unexpected installation problems.

Adding the Gloss Logo During the Project

The logo wasn't part of the original plan. Andrey decided to add it while the truck was already in our shop.

We prepared the layout, cut the logo from 3M 2080 High Gloss Black, and applied it over the satin film. Gloss on satin is one of my favorite combinations. From a distance, the truck reads as solid black. Up close, or when light hits it at an angle, the logo shows up sharp and clean. It looks expensive without trying too hard.

What Andrey Got

Andrey now has a satin black Cybertruck with a gloss black logo, finished in two days for $4,750. The truck no longer looks like bare stainless steel. The black is deep, not gray, and the finish is easier to keep clean than the matte he first asked for.

Like every vehicle that leaves our shop, his truck went home with our care tag on the mirror. One side thanks the client and asks for a review. The other provides care instructions for the first 48 hours, routine washing, and safe pressure-washer use, including keeping the spray away from the film edges. At the bottom is a tear-off coupon with 10% off his next order and 10% off the first order for anyone he refers.

He was very happy with the result, and so were we. Sometimes the best brand statement is a black truck and a logo you notice on the second look.
